Whatever you planning on doing the night of August 27th has just been cancelled.
It's true.
Getting married? POSTPONED. Hot date? CANCELLED. Bubble bath with your hot neighbor? TOO BAD.
There is now something far more interesting for you to be doing that night, and it involves sitting on your ass and watching geeky television. You're welcome.
The second half of series six of Doctor Who is back on the 27th, and we couldn't be more excited. And, if you haven't caught up to the end of the first half of series six, I'd stop reading now because of, in the words of River Song, SPOILERS...
Steven "The Moff" Moffat says that this half of the series sees all of the rules changed, and that the game is now "deadlier than ever" - which I'm sure all of those people who think Doctor Who is too scary for children will just love. August 27th's new episode is called "Let's Kill Hitler", where the ridiculous trio of Amy, Rory and the Doctor find themselves in Thirties Berlin, which brings them face to face with "the greatest war criminal of all time. And Hitler." Hooray! (But also, who is "the greatest war criminal of all time" if not Hitler?)
This half of the series revolves around the hunt for Amy and Rory's baby Melody (aka River. The mind! It reels!) and the Doctor's impending death, which is meant to happen at 5.02pm on 22nd April 2011.The Moff says that the Doctor's search for Melody will be his "final mission". Dun dun dunnnnn.
There's a prequel for "Let's Kill Hitler" online now, and you can watch the trailer for the second half of series six below! Let us know what you think!
