The good ladies over at Slate's XX Factor Blog have noticed an interesting new trend in ChickLit jackets. While one might guess that the trend is teeny tiny dogs, half-naked men, cupcakes or even pink furry boas - you'd be wrong. The new trend is, in fact, teacups.
Unless you've not looked at a lifestyle blog lately or are completely unaware of The New Boring, you'll know that teacups have been bang on trend for the last year or so.
Ever since Lady Gaga showed up on Jonathan Ross's old show with one, the world has been seemingly obsessed with dainty China cups. While those of us who are down with the kids might already be, like, so over teacups, the publishing industry has just now realized that women like teacups, and are throwing them on the cover of ChickLit books.

As XX points out, it really is a sign of the times. While not all us can afford Jimmy Choos, we can afford tea. So why not try to sell us an easy read with it? It makes sense - but I'd rather have a cup of tea than read something called One Moment, One Morning. Just sayin'.
