It's no secret that here at BitchBuzz we think that Diablo Cody is nothing short of a god. So you can imagine how stoked we are about The United States of Tara coming to Showtime.

What is Halloween without some fun and spooky movies to watch? Here are five movies to help put you in the Halloween spirit this month.
1. Sleepy Hollow
Say what you will about Tim Burton, but he knew just how to treat this story. Sleepy Hollow is meant to be a creepy, dying little town, and he got that; the atmosphere of the movie is absolutely perfect in every sense of the word--the...

If you are in London or plan on being in London from tomorrow, or until 1 February 2009, you must stop by the National Portrait Gallery and experience the Annie Leibovitz exhibition called "A Photographer's LIfe, 1990 - 2005". It is simply brilliant.
Open to the public starting tomorrow, October 16 and costing £11 or entry, A Photographer's Life is an intriguing collection of photographs and portraits from both Leibovitz's public and private collections. Intimate portratis of her ch...

I do sometimes feel that it’s a shame that books for adults don’t contain more illustrations. Yes, there’s plenty to be said for creating the images in your own head, but that’s trodden all over when someone makes a bad film of the book anyway. Perhaps they should just all be published with blank pages and a biro. *Ahem* Anyway, to get back on track, children have it very good when it comes to words and pictures.

The magical image of a witch soaring across a moonlit sky on nothing more than her broom is iconic, if not a bit rock star. Seriously, how cool would that be? And fuel efficient to boot. Fantasy aside, the witch’s broom carries an interesting historical and spiritual context and makes for the perfect Halloween/Samhain DIY project.

In 1964 television gave us our first witchy leading lady, Samantha Stephens, who many consider to be the best TV witch of all time. It’s true that Bewitched paved the way for more recent witch-centric TV shows like Charmed, but does first mean best? Is Samantha Stephens really the greatest TV witch of all time?

There’s no doubt about it; the scent of burning pumpkin is in the air. Costumes are coming out, and the annual tooth-rotting contests that is Trick or Treat is just around the corner. But how to get children in the festive mood? Here are my favourite Hallowe’en-friendly books for kids.

It's not exactly a sercret than many a woman finds the Lynx and Axe commercials irritating, but they seem to have taken it to a new level of "are you fucking kidding me?!" with their new Dark Temptation adverts.

However au fait you are with the latest in literature, you might not have heard of Ann Quin. I certainly never had, until a friend recommended Three. (And here’s me with my English degree, and my smug belief that I know “quite a bit about books.” Oh, the shame.)

One of my favorite times of the year for great TV-watching is in the month of October. There are so many wonderful, not to mention creepy shows, which are perfect for those nights when you just want to curl up on the couch with some hot chocolate or a glass of wine and watch something that will strike a little fear into you.
