Kids these days get to have all the fun! When I was a teenager, I had to satisfy myself with hanging around Birmingham City Centre like a delinquent hoody, but this summer, those aged between 14 and 18 will be treated to their very own music festival, featuring a whole host of brilliant bands.

There’s a fine line between comedy and tragedy, as any person who’s heard that saying before will tell you, and Anvil! The Story of Anvil tiptoes along it, ripped jeans, big hair and all. A documentary about washed up almost-rock stars might not sound like your bag, but trust me, they’ll win you over.

Last weekend, geeks of all flavors descended upon downtown San Fransisco, as WonderCon , the smaller, less Hollywood cousin of San Diego's annual ComicCon (and the bigger, less indie rock cousin to San Francisco's Alternative Press Expo), took over the Moscone Convention Cente...

Very early this morning, I curled up in a chair and, with 484 other people, watched the first UK IMAX screening of The Watchmen. The Watchmen movie has been “in development” (read: in development hell) since I first read the graphic novel, which was about 6 years ago - so if anything deserved a trip out to Britain biggest screen, this was it.

The internet is ripe with parodies performed by idiots, but every once in awhile we get a piece that's truly a gem. The 92nd Street Y in New York released a parody of Mad Men starring Amy Sedaris that features a Jewish ad exec who seems more than a little confused about his religious identity.
To assist fellow gentiles in truly appreciating the humor behind the
parody, I asked someone who speaks both Yiddish and Hebrew what
"meshugene" meant. Turns out, it's a Yiddish word with a me...

The issue of women and comedy brings out the worst in people. Before
we start, let’s state straight off that the evidence is very much
against women when it comes to stand up comedy. Or, at least, there
aren’t as many women as men who reach a professional level. Yes there
are a few, but for every woman stand-up comedian there are about 500
men, or so it seems. When a woman stand up comic takes the stage, she
knows she’s facing lowered expectations.

Unsurprisingly, Jessica Rabbit has been named the sexiest cartoon character of all time. This doesn't exactly come as a shock, as Jessica's ginger locks, six foot long legs and perkily drawn breasts have been getting men - animated or otherwise - all hot and bothered for years.
The Metro reports that Betty Boop and the Cadb...

Oscar season usually means that some people who have been in the public eye forever get to sparkle some more and some people who have pissed their career down the drain and then recovered by playing themselves get a chance for a second twirl. What? I didn’t actually name Mickey Rourke aloud, did I? Oops.

We’re a few days past The Oscars, which means most of the winners have finally gone to sleep, the losers have stopped pretending to be thrilled for the winners and Hugh Jackman - having caught a glimpse of his well-choreographed shadow - has gone back into the closet for another six weeks.
Several writers have already analyzed the names that were pulled out of each PriceWaterhouse envelope - or those that weren’t - so I’ve decided to stick to the “Best Original Song” portion of...
