It’s not often you find yourself in a Michelin starred eatery, dining on the finest and enjoying a heady dose of wine courtesy of your very own sommelier. But this weekend I was treated to that very experience at top restaurant, The Kitchin. As someone used to spending their Saturday nights with The X Factor and a take-away, it was quite a treat.

The digital revolution continues unabated, or perhaps it's just the grumble heard round the world as writers feel their words devalued again. Penguin started up their very own "self-publishing" business. The "self" is optional, of course. As the coverage in The Wall Street Journal describes it:

I’ve always been fascinated by Marilyn Monroe, along with the rest of the world, I’m sure. My fascination, however, has never been for the sexpot, but rather the unseen and tortured Monroe, a side to the star the world has only seen through the vicarious glimpses of the people who surrounded her and committed their experiences to paper. My Week With Marilyn, based on the Colin Clark memoir of the same name, attempts to show us just that. It sadly falls short of just that as well.

It’s that time of year again when excitement is in the air, the Internet is full of expectation, and children and adults are so excited they can barely sleep at night. No, not Christmas, it’s Lady Gaga Video Day! Pop the champagne!Last night at 8pm in the States the video for “Marry The Night”, Gaga’s new single and directorial debut, exploded on to the scene. Litera...

The good ladies over at Slate's XX Factor Blog have noticed an interesting new trend in ChickLit jackets. While one might guess that the trend is teeny tiny dogs, half-naked men, cupcakes or even pink furry boas - you'd be wrong. The new trend is, in fact, teacups.

No matter what sector of the music industry, it’s always assumed that successful female pop stars hate each other. In the noughties it was all about Britney vs Christina, and then Christina vs Mariah Carey, and then Katy Perry vs Lady Gaga - but apparently they’re fine now. While it is sexist that women are always compared to each other and the media tries to manipulate things they’ve said or done to create some fiery feud - sometimes, female pop stars perpetuate this stereotyp...
