There's a lot of great and interesting art online, from photographers to painters to all kinds of random stuff on deviantart. The problem is it can be difficult to find all the awesome out there because there is so much of it.
Here are a couple of inspiring and edgy photographer's to give you some artistic inspiration. Some of them are more on the gothic side, but hey, that's the great thing about the internet, if what you do is interesting, it will always find an audience.
Lucia Holm
Lucia Holm, known as Miss Lulu and the Teaspoon Shortage on Flickr, brings a mixture of Alice in Wonderland and Twin Peaks to life in her photos. She takes a lot of self-portraits and always has the same amazingly perfect blond do in most of her photos. The same sort of perfection shines through in the pictures, they seem to be carefully planned and then edited. All of which makes a strange and intriguing world come to life in the photo.
Lara Jade
There are a lot of scarily talented young photographers out there and Lara Jade has to be one of the more famous among them. She's somewhat of a celebrity on the Flickr/Deviantart scene and started out taking photos as a thirteen-year-old. She's now seventeen and already working for different agencies as a fashionphotographer . It just goes to show how talent combined with visibility online can go a long way. It seems like Lara is mostly focusing on her fashion photography now days, but her earlier work is moreexperimental and interesting. Among other things she did a project called Crime Scenes which most young female photographers seem to do at some point in their career.
Suzi 9mm
If Lara Jade dabbled in taking photos of made up crime scenes, with pretty girls sprawled on pavements, it's nothing compared to Finn JenniTapanila's take on the subject. Tapanila uses the nick Suzi 9mm, which sort of gives away a bit of her fascination with violence. Her photos are not for the faint hearted and features a lot of clever use of blood, needles and guns.
Rosie Hardy
Rosie Hardy is another talented young photographer on Flickr. She rose to internet fame thanks to a very public online courtship with her American boyfriend Aaron Nace who's also a photographer. The couple met on Flickr and started editing each other into their photographs. Although even without their own online reality show both Rosie and Aaron have enough talent to just let that be their claim to fame. Rosie takes emotional self-portraits and edits them beautifully. She's someone to watch, especially since the eighteen-year-old has just been accepted to art school.
Fredrik Ödman
This Swedish photographer has a slightly confusing website, but if you figure out where to click then you'll most likely be blown away by his photos. His style is Victorian sideshow meets modern gothic imagery. He uses props and a lot of digital manipulation in his work. Ödman seems to be one of those elusive artists that just have a website and not much else going for them online. His work is still interesting enough though for people to pass along the link even though they can't interact with him onFlickr.
