The latest addition to the wonderful, tucked away world of Seven Dials is Euphorium Bakery. Located in the center of the Thomas Neal Center off of Earlham Street (and with a currently unmarked location on Shorts Garden) this location of Euphorium is a bit different than all of the rest.
With a distinctively more “on-the-go” feel to it, the Eupohorium Bakery in Seven Dials is perfect for a quick but delicious and fresh lunch if you work in the area, of if you just need a break from shopping or cruising around Covent Garden, and you’re looking for some place bit different.
A perfect balance of the sweet and the savory, what I love most about Euphorium is that it aims to appeal to not only those who work in the area, but dudes who are in search of a can of coke and a sausage roll, as well as shoppers in need of a sugar fix.
In it for the long haul and not just after patrons riding the cupcake obsession train, Euphoirum offers a wide range of products, from apple tarts, to salads, to sandwiches with fillings that are specifically paired with only certain types of bread. (Thoughtful, eh?)
Everything in all of the Euphorium Bakery locations is baked fresh that morning at their location at 202 Upper Street, and it really shows not only in how the food looks, but how it tastes.
For example, the pepperoni pizza I had for lunch was not only just the right size, but the pepperoni was fresh and light, unlike the pepperonis you get from, say, Dominios, which flood your pizza with that horrific orange grease. Plus, this was the first slice of pepperoni pizza I’d seen with broccoli and mushrooms on it – and to my surprise, actually complimented the pepperonis quite nicely.

While éclairs and strawberry tarts aren’t my usual choices when I’m after dessert, the chocolat éclair and strawberry cream tart I had from Euphorium were so good, I didn’t even know what to do with myself. The fruit on the strawberry cream tart was amazingly fresh and sweet, and the éclair was, well, better than the ones you can get at Patisserie Valerie, to say the least.

I also decided that while I was in such a state of, ahem, euphoria, that I should probably try out the sourdough bread and have a loaf to take away. (And, naturally, an almond croissant, in case I hadn’t consumed enough carbohydrates in one afternoon.)

The almond croissant was superb, but admittedly, the sourdough bread was one of the most disappointing loaves of sourdough I’ve had in a very long time, so if you’re from the States (or more specifically San Francisco) I would give the sourdough a miss!

All in all, I love what Euphorium Bakery stands for. Between the quality of their pastries, sandwiches and cakes (which you can order for special occasions) and their lovely teas and free WiFi, I’m not sure what more one could ask from a bakery in London.
If you love Euphorium Bakery, be sure to check out their new location! You can also follow them on Twitter as @euphoriumbakery.
